Earth Hour Extends Beyond the Hour

At Pure Planet Club, we believe in the power of collective action to drive positive change for our planet. This year, Earth Hour is amplifying its impact by extending beyond the symbolic 60-minute lights-out moment, inviting people worldwide to participate and make a lasting difference.

1 - The Iconic Switch-Off Moment
On Saturday, 23rd March, millions of people across the globe will unite in a symbolic act for the environment by switching off their lights at 8:30 pm local time. Earth Hour, initiated by the World Wildlife Fund (WWF), serves as a powerful reminder of our collective responsibility to protect our planet.

2 - Challenge Yourself for Change
This year, Earth Hour is not just about one hour of lights off; it's about making a sustained effort. From now until March 23, challenge yourself to walk, run, cycle, or swim for at least 60 minutes a day. Step outside, breathe in the fresh air, and reconnect with nature. You can even take this opportunity to fundraise for worthy environmental causes, amplifying your impact beyond your personal goals.

3 - Wear it Wild at Schools
Education plays a crucial role in fostering environmental consciousness. Schools can actively participate by registering for Wear it Wild, an initiative where classes can learn more about nature and earn prizes along the way. For a gold coin donation, students can come to school dressed as their favourite animals.

4 - Switch off and tune in
When you turn off those lights, take time to engage in fun, environmentally friendly activities. Have a cosy dinner by candlelight, embark on a moonlit walk with friends and family, engage in classic board games, or gaze up at the stars. Embracing these moments of simplicity and connection can be just as rewarding as the symbolic switch-off.
